MEET OUR tEACHERS!

Ms. Hanna

Ms. Hanna was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She attended the University of Alabama where she double majored in Visual Journalism and Digital Media. She is married to her high school sweetheart and has two children who attend PDO. Hanna loves creating crafts and nature based activities for her students. She is excited to create a community where kids develop a love for kindness, creativity and learning.

Ms. Marguerite

Ms. Marguerite is a Colorado native who grew up in the mountains and has lived in the Denver area for the last 10 years. She is married and has two boys (one who attended PDO) and a golden retriever named Zennie. She loves skiing, biking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Ms. Marguerite has a masters degree in social work and has had a career working with children. When she is not at PDO, she is the Program Manager for Girls Rugby Colorado. What she is most excited about is watching the kids learn, create, and play while developing their unique personalities.

Ms. Patty

Ms. Patty is from Guatemala and has lived in Denver for the past three years, where she loves experiencing life with the seasons.

She is a mom of two kids, born two decades apart! Her youngest went to PDO, so she first came to know and love the program as a parent.

When she’s not at PDO, Ms. Patty teaches music and rehearses with the marimba band she founded and directs. She loves languages and speaks Spanish, English, and German.

Ms. Patty has a special place in her heart for people at the two ends of life. Two-year-olds and the 80+ crowd are her favorite peeps. With little ones, she can’t help but sing songs and make stuffies talk. She believes grown-ups can be a little like thermostats: when emotions run high, we can help bring the temperature back down instead of going up with it.

Having once dropped off her own little one at PDO, Ms. Patty is very happy to now be on the other side of the door, welcoming yours.

Ms. Jaleen

Ms. Jaleen grew up on a farm in Iowa where she learned the core values of hard work and patience at a young age. She and her family love going to help with harvesting each year. She loves to show and teach her own children about country life vs. city life. Living in Denver is an exciting place for her, as she loves fine dining and experiencing new and interesting foods, of which she loves exposing her children to. They also enjoy trips to the mountains, and, according to her kids, she enjoys doing dishes and “being their boss.” Ms. Jaleen has come full circle at PDO since she first started as a mom and working parent in 2013. She was then part of the program with her second child years later, which is when she joined the Executive Board as Secretary. She helped keep PDO running during the pandemic, as well as expand the program in more ways than one. So, when a position as a teacher became available, she was so excited to continue on in a different role with this amazing community. Ms. Jaleen loves 3-year-olds and watching them grow throughout that stage of life. She is excited to help her class learn and thrive each day in her classroom.

Ms. Jill

Ms. Jill is originally from the PNW and moved to Colorado in 5th grade. Bouncing from different cities around the state, she’s finally calling the Denver area home for the past 8 years. She is married and has two sons who attended PDO and a daughter in kindergarten. Ms Jill is a camp counselor at heart, arts & crafts along with silly songs are her happy place. She has a BA degree in neuroscience psychology, her science teaching licensure through CU Boulder, and has had a career in mentoring and educating children of all ages. When she is not at PDO, she pursues the program Mothers of Preschoolers, and thrifts at basically every quality thrift store. She can’t wait to foster a classroom culture that allows kids to be kids while also channeling their inner curiosities about the world around them.

Ms. Gayle

Ms. Gayle is a Colorado native and was born and raised in Denver. She and her husband have been married for 13 years and have two young sons. In her free time, she likes reading, listening to music, and going on adventures with her kids!
